Covered Notebooks

On Wednesday I quilt/sew with some ladies ... we meet at St. Margaret Mary Parish Hall. We're not a quild, club, no rules, no dues ...... just friends getting together to quilt/sew and chat. We go on shop hops and out to lunch. It's a fun time every week.

The pattern is in the Fons and Porter magazine (see photo on the right), or you can order their kit Winter 2007, Easy Quilts. If you can't find the magazine locally go to amazon and order it.

I worked last week getting them ready ..... much to my disappointment we didn't meet today because we got lots of (surprise) snow. I have a few more to make as soon as I get more ribbon. Each notebook uses a different fabric and quilting motiff .... I quilted the fabrics on my long arm. Oh and remember all that batting I busted ..... I used a 5 yard length in this project. I did alter the pattern alittle to better suit my style of work. I'm very pleased with the outcome and they sure make nice, quick gifts.

I wanted to make each something small for the New Year to use throughout the year .... notebooks with quilted covers.

Before I go digging....By Fons & Porter 2007 Winter do you mean their magazine or is it a special edition or book?

Those portfolio's are beautiful....and just what I've been looking for. I've been checking out all sorts of patterns for them.

Jen I'm pretty sure it was a special issue ... I found a photo and posted the magazine.

I am so glad that you have water now! What a relief! And thanks for the info on the notebooks and the magazine! I had to run to 2 different Joann's last night, but I found it!

Great notebook covers - I just added that idea to my "Christmas Gifts 2008" file folder - yours are so fun and colorful!

Your notebook covers are very nice! Thanks for reminding me about the pattern in the magazine.
