Son-in-law and grandchildren will be hard at work making pumpkin pie, chocolate cake and maybe even a chocolate pie, fudge and peanut butter balls (my favorite). If baking goes wrong we can always pick up a couple from the guy below.

Tree Skirt

Our luncheon

The Crock Pot Chicken was loved by all. Janice gave us the recipe.

Cook 4-5 chicken breast in water (or stock) with some celery, carrots and onion. After it cools break it apart into small pieces then freeze it.
The day of your party remove frozen, cooked chicken breast from the freezer. Place in crockpot with 2 cans cream of chicken and 1 can cream of celery. Heat on medium for several hours. Serve on buns or just plain.
It was delicious ........ thank you Janice.

Thank you Dave owner of our health food store for sending me the correct recipe.
I posted the above recipe back on 11/26 but the recipe was missing some ingredients. Over the years we lost the recipe so DH was winging it. I wrote to Dave and he sent me the "real" cranberry chutney.

Cranberry Chutney
Many years ago I took a cooking class at the local health food store. Dave, owner, is a wonderful cook. At that time he also had an eatery connected to the store. I can't tell you how many times I stopped there on my way home from work to pick up dinner. Alas, sometime ago he closed the eatery to expand his health and organic food selections.
Back to my story ... we cooked up some fabulous meals during that class, had lots of fun and some of the recipes I'm still making. BUT (there's always a but) somewhere along the line I lost the recipe booklet.
One of the recipes we still make and love is Cranberry Chutney. DH makes it only at Thanksgiving and Christmas .... I guess just to make it extra special.
Here he is ..... recipe at the bottom. You might recognize this style of photo if you read 365 Crockpot Blog (I do, love that blog). Oops the apple didn't make it in the photo.

The start with spices.

Now to cook it down.
