Sew, Mama, Sew! said that June is Sewing Machine Month...
She also wanted to know all our machine(s)...I love my machine(s) So here are my answers...
What brand and model do you have?
I actually own 5 machines but I'll be writing about my Janome 6500P which I LOVE.
How long have you had it?
Gosh since they hit the market which I can't remember when that was.
How much does that machine cost (approximately)?
I got a great deal from a place in Columbus Ohio ... $900.00
What types of things do you sew?
I do mostly piecing of tops but also do some craft sewing. I also have been teaching my 3 GC to sew for several years.
How much do you sew? How much wear and tear does the machine get?
I sew almost every day so it gets lots of wear and tear.
Do you like/love/hate your machine? Are you ambivalent? Passionate? Does she have a name?
I love love love my machine ... all of them actually. No name.
What features does your machine have that work well for you?
My favorite feature is the auto thread cutter, saves so much time. And I like the auto threader too.
Is there anything that drives you nuts about your machine?
Nothing.
Do you have a great story to share about your machine?
A friend took a computer table and cut a hole in it so my sweet machine would fit down into it.
Would you recommend the machine to others? Why?
Absolutely. It's a wonderful machine, a great workhorse and never lets me down.
What factors do you think are important to consider when looking for a new machine? Is it a workhorse, rearely needing repair. Do others love it too.
Do you have a dream machine? I own it, Janome.

I have 2 machines, an old Kenmore (I HATE it) and a 1948 Featherweight which I love. My problem is that I don't like sitting at a machine to sew but when I do you can't beat an old featherweight for that sweet seam.
Crispy
That's the same machine I have, and it's been very good to me!
