House Remodel Finished

Paint touch up and a few other minor things finished up the remodel on Monday ..... oh everything looks so nice.

And the new carpet which was installed with the new pet pad on Wednesday .... it's so beautiful (shhhh I really like it and might put it in my house. LOL) It's a Mohawk Berber.

Dining room table and chairs. The set belonged to my MIL and came to me when DH's mother passed away.

China hut (sorry the lousy photo).

New honey brown decorator fabric for the dining room chairs ... photo doesn't even begin to show the true color of fabric. It's very nice.

The new light are really pretty.

Now to wait patiently for the new living room furniture to arrive.

House Remodel Continues (4)

My dog sitting job is almost over. Oreo and Tippy find it hard work staying at my house, mostly in the yard except when it's too cold.

The contractors finished up today, nice job, great work. DD#1 is very happy with their work.

The ceilings (living room, dining room, kitchen and hallway (39ft hallway) are beautiful.


New pendant lights over the dining room table.



Nice ceiling fan ...... it gets very hot, humid here in the summer.



New recessed hallway lights ....... we really like them.

New, centered light over the kitchen table ..... easy to change the light bulbs too.

And new light at the front door.



Next new carpet will be installed this week and then new living room furniture will be delivered.

House Remodel Continues (3)

DD#1 house remodel continues ..........

Start out with neat, clean equipment.

Ceiling is ready to be stamped. Unfortunately something went wrong with the mix and ir produced these things hanging down that looked like half of a ping pong ball. No photo (sorry).

Funny thing the hallway came out perfect. Maybe a bad mix got used in the kitchen, living and dining room. Or maybe it was just way too cold outside and too warm inside. Ceiling had to be sanded off again (2nd time). I love the hallway lights DD#1 choose.

All cabinets, doors ... everything is covered with plastic to protect from paint and ceiling stamp.

Priming the walls.

Oh boy carpet selection time. A nice Berber. The new furniture is lovely.

OK ceiling was sanded for the 2nd time, primed and restamped (2nd stamping).

Oops big problems where the hallway meets the living/dining room. Oh dear.

Unfortunately the new stamping product and design did not turn out as expected. It's UGLY, thick and too close together. In real time it looks like embossed wallpaper from the 70's. So for the 3rd time ceiling will be sanded, primed and restamped. Third time is charm (we hope).

We can't say enough about Harrison Construction ....... they are wonderful.

House Remodel

DD#1 is doing a little remodel on her house .... removing a wall, new carpet, new furniture, new light fixtures and a bunch of minor things.


BEFORE ............... this is their upstairs TV room. Actually it was bedroom #5 .... it will now be part of the new living/dining room combo.
