Pure Love

CIMG0093

My entry for the Amy's Blogger Quilt Festival.

I made this quilt to celebrate GD#3 arrival. She is a miracle baby for DD#2 and SIL.

The quilt is based loosely on the Yellow Brick Road pattern. I say loosely because I found YBR difficult so I sort of did my own thing .... I think it turned out great.

DD#2 is a not a quilter or sewist but she definitely has the color/pattern eye. So off we went to 4 quilt shops in her area and Joann's too. She wanted lots of pattern with a touch of black and hot pink. Oh we found so many wonderful fabrics.

I used chenille from Joann's .... oh my gosh that stuff is so soft and cuddly ... it was perfect.

As you can see I used a heart, teacup and teapot theme for the quilting. That was DD#2 theme for her baby shower and the room is decorated with touches of teacups and teapots.

What a beautiful quilt. I love that soft and snugly batting. Your granddaughter seems to like it too.

This is a lovely quilt. Great colours and design. Love the quilting, too.
And, of course, this is a gorgeous baby!

Oh, that is seriously one of the cutest things I've ever seen! And I'm so intimidated by minky - every time I sew with it it shifts like crazy. Well done! (And in answer to your question on my blog, I'm in Charleston.)

I just found you. I'm having GD#3 in March and a pink/black w/minkie might be in the works for her too! Looks great. Did you have trouble quilting it with your Nolting?
