Valerie's Granny of Life's Little Garden blog will celebrate her 96th birthday later this week. Granny sews Mon-Thur. I love reading about Granny, she reminds me of my own grandmothers who are long gone.
I made Granny a fabric postcard for her birthday .... sent it off over the weekend. I hope she enjoys it.
I did place mine in a regular envelope for mailing. It's not that I don't trust the post office but they do charge extra to hand cancel.
I hope you'll stop over and take a few moments to read about Granny and maybe wish her a Happy 96th Birthday. She is one wonderful woman.
NOTE: If you're interested here are some more postcards I made and some I received in trade several years ago.

Oh my goodness! I love this. I have heard about these cards but I have never saw one in person. You are so sweet to make this for Granny. She will love it. Thank you is not enough. Thank you for posting about Grannys b-day. I will enter your entries in the give away.
Sandy -- the postcard is lovely!
The post office should not be charging you more to hand cancel the postcard. I have made many of them and have sent them without envelopes from at least 3 different post offices to places all over the U.S. They require a first-class stamp, not a postcard stamp, but the hand-canceling by the clerk is at no charge. I've been told that my postcards arrive in perfect condition, across town and across the country.
What a wonderful birthday card! I am sure Granny will love it. I am so impressed that she's still making quilts at age 96.
Hi Sandy,
I saw your post card on the blog for Grannies Birthday, Great Job!!
