great giveaway-thank you, I started quilting soon after retirement around 2004-we were remodeling (still are) and hubby was sick, and I didn't have anything I could to do, and Mom says find a little corner somewhere and plug in that sewing machine-lol so I started doing raggy quilts from reclaimed materials

I started SEWING when I was 10 years old, and really started quilting at about 15. So, I've been quilting for 12 years, and sewing for 17! it's a joy for me and my "stress-relief".
Love you generous give-away!
I started quilting in 1975-6 when I made a quilted DRESS. I started quilting to USE UP the leftovers--still haven't used them all up! Thanks for hosting a giveaway!
Thanks for not having us jump through hoops. I usually won't enter hoop jumping giveaways. Now, I started quilting about 10 years ago. I had an embroidery machine and was meeting with some "sewers" but didn't like to sew. So I got a rail fence pattern from Nancy's Notions and some cheep fabric and off I went. And was immediatly hooked.
Nice giveaway! Thanks for the opportunity to win!!
I began quilting about 5 years ago. Nice giveaway!!

What a neat idea for the man's shirt - and to think I JUST gave a HUGE bag to Goodwill when I could have been making fun blocks. Very cool!!
I started quilting when I was knee-high, making blankets for dolls. Grandmother used to pass me her scraps and I'd hoard them.
Funny thing, I STILL hoard my scraps..LOL
Happy Fall.

Great Giveaway. I started quilting when I was pregnant with my second child. He will be turning 12 next week.
I started quilting about 30 years ago. However I have been sewing since I was in the 7th grade. Got the bug then, made all my own clothes, later made my wedding dress and 4 bridesmaid dresses while in my senior year in high school. And yes still married to my high school sweetheart, just celebrated 40 years!
Wow thanks for a cool giveaway! Great prizes.

I started quilting right after I go married but had been sewing for years before that. So I could say I have been quilting for forty years.

Great giveaway! I quilted a little bit back when I was a teenager, but I really started to get into it (my hubby says "obsessed!") about a year ago!
Great stuff, and I love that use of the man's shirt! I have a collection of shirts too, and will keep that pattern in mind.

I started quilting in 2003 but with SO many hobbies I haven't done an awful lot.

I started quilting in 1989 and took about a 10 yr break and have now been back to quilting this past year.
The first quilt I made was in 1984 although today I know better. It was actually two pieces of flannel with staight line...uhm...quilting???? Took quite a while off, dabbled, but have been HOOKED for the last 10 years.
I started quilting about 7 years ago when I opened a Christmas present, of which I thought was a quilt. Oh no, it was just the fabric. I had to MAKE my own quilt :) I've been hooked ever since! My husband and I were expecting our 1st daughter, we were at a gun shop (my husband was a police officer) and next to it was a brand new quilt store. We went inside and they had a wonderful saff and my husband talked me into taking a hand piecing/quilting class. I did - finished 3 crib size before the end of class - all by hand. I have been in love since and my oldest is 12
Wonderful giveaway!
A serious amount of booty! I love the striped shirt quilts. Those are awesome.
Forgot to answer questions, I started over 20 years ago!
I started quilting almost 15 years ago....but it seems like just yesterday!
I hope you will hop on over to my blog for a visit one day. :)
Great giveaway...thanks! I started quilting over 20 years ago, then took a break from it to have a family. I've just been back into it for a couple of years now. :0)
I started in fall 1998. Thanks for the chance for the generous giveaway!
Thank goodness I have finally finished checking out all “Fall into Fall” participants! It has taken all weekend and you are my very last blog.
I have been quilting off and on over the years but it wasn’t until 2007 that I began machine quilting, until then I simply “tied” my quilts. Once I began learning to machine quilt I was addicted. I still have much to learn but I can see great improvement.
I started quilting almost twenty years ago.
What a lot of wonderful goodies you are giving away! I started quilting the summer of 1991. For the Christmas of '91, with an 11 month old and a 2 year old I made two quilts. One for my Mother and one for my Grandmother. I did all the quilting on my regular sewing machine (which I still use almost exclusively even though it's 25 years old!). I have done quilting and a multitude of other crafts for years!
Great giveaway. I started quilting 4 years ago, when our youngest moved out. Had to have something to do. Started reading quilt blogs and was bitten by the bug. LOL Have a wonderful day. Winona
I have always done some kind of handwork. It used to be cross stitch, but you mix 2 toddlers and 5 boxes of totally organized and numerically orderly threads, and you need a hobby with less supplies, so I saw a show on PBS about quilting. Four kids and 16 years later, I am still quilting, although I have way more fabric and threads than I ever had with cross stitch! Oh, and the 2 toddlers are now 16 and 18, and no longer get into my stash of anything. Marianne

I started quilting about 15 years ago when my oldest was just a baby. thanks for the giveaway!
Thanks for the opportunity!
I swtarted quilting in 1996, when I was in 6th grade, I made a quillow, then tried to learn pants but loved teh quilted cover I made for my quillow and went from there. I seriously got into it in 2005, and have been going hard since....so REALLY 2005, but I did ignite the flame earlier
I started in the 70's when I cut up hubby's shirts, my first attempt and I didn't have a clue. nothing after that for years, My Mom would make my quilts, she hand quilted and I didn't have the patience for that. When she was going through Chemo treatments I moved home for two months to take care of her we made our first and last quilt together, mine was a heart, hers a basket, the basket quilt has never been finished. I now follow in her footsteps and I make quilts for charities and I love it, beside making the smaller quilts I get lots of practice for the big quilts for family.
I started quilting in 1978, I was 10 years old and we went after church every Sunday. I am In Canada but I have a US mailing address, because I can see Michigan from my window!
Great giveaway! Please enter my name in the drawing. I started quilting around 1982 but put it on hold after about a year until 1997. Been addicted ever since!
ha ha! I'm not even sure. I know it was after my son was born but before my daughter was born... so 4-5 years ago.
PS you can promote your giveaway on the new Quilty Giveaways site (it's free)
http://quiltygiveaways.blogspot.com/
Thanks for the chance to enter. I have been quilting for 15 years. I belong to 4 generations of quilters and have a quilt from each. I got started late, but have been collecting fabric like I am on a mission.
http://quiltingcamper.blogspot.com/
That is quite a giveaway, and I like all of it. The blocks made out of the men's shirt are a unique idea. I am a quilt book maniac and often visit Savers to see what I can find. The Sampler pattern and fabric look like a fun project. Thanks, Sandy.
Hi there, I made my first 'full' quilt earlier this year, with lots of plans to make more...just need to step away from the computer (said in my best P.A. voice) and get stuck into doing so.
I know you said we have to have a US snail mail addy...I actually live in Australia, but a friend lets me get things sent to her house in US, so does that count? Either way, if I win, I'll like to get it sent to her....so we can share the love!
Hugs
Naomi
Thank you for the wonderful give away!
I started quilting about 10 years ago, but I go in spurts :)
Blogging has gotten me back sewing

Hi there!
Very nice prizes :) Thank you for the chance to win!
I made a "quilt" for my first boyfriend way back in 1980 - he dumped me a week later - (as my kids now say - what a major loser!!) It really was just triangles sewed into squares. I started quilting about 3 years ago - with patterns and quality fabric. I really enjoy it - just wish I had more time to work on projects! But I guess we could all say that :)
I started quilting in 1996! My first 2 quilts that year were wedding gifts!

too funny! i just picked up two mens shirts at a rummage sale last weekend! great minds think alike!! thanks for a chance.
I only started quilting a couple of months ago. I'm in the process of quilting a twin size for my daughter's bed, and have only one finished quilt to my name, a little charity quilt. And I'm the designing process of another charity quilt that I hope is going to be awesome! Making quilts for charity is why I got started, and now I'm addicted! I LOVE it! And the striped shirt alone is enough to make a follower! What a GREAT idea! (Add THAT to my to-do list!!!) :)
Thanks for a great bundle of gifts!!!
~Teresa
Wow, what a haul for the person who wins! I started quilting in July, of 2008. I was hooked from the get-go.

What a super giveaway!! I pieced my first quilt top when I was pregnant in 1968. (I used the fabrics from my maternity clothes.) I think I still have one top that has never been quilted. I didn't really get into all the aspects of learning how to finish a quilt till 1978. Thanks for your generous giveaway. I like to get shirts!!
I have 3 different start dates for when I started quilting but my passion for quilting started in 2004 with some dear friends. Oddly enough, I'm the only one still quilting frenetically whilst they are occasional quilters now. Thanks so much for your giveaway!!
Fantastic Giveway. Thanks for participating in the hop to give us a chance to win!! I started quilting about 16 years ago when I made a flannel quilt for my son's bed, but didn't know the first thing about it. I am currently taking my very first quilting class.

I have been quilting for about 12 years or so. I went through a divorce and moved back home, I was so stressed, I would come home from work and mom would be quilting, she looked so relaxed. So I thought "that is what I need" and I have been quilting ever since!

What a generous offer. The first quilts I made were t-shirt memory quilts for my kids....hmmmm about 20 years ago...oh my. But I have only recently actually fallen in love with the craft. thanks for the chance to win.
I have been quilting for a few years, then life got in the way. But back at it again. I am trying to learn to make those beautiful applique quilts. Practice, practice. Thanks for the give away
Oh wow this is so fun! Your giveaway is great. I started quilting about 16 years ago, on very basic panel quilts which were very popular then. I also made a few log cabin quilts. I learned my love for quilting from my mum who recently passed away. I only just this last year really got back into it. She was thrilled...
I have been quilting this summer, I can't believe three or so months have gone so fast. Lessons weekly. I have been knitting for almost 48 years and I have found something that actually tops that.
Thank you for the opportunity to enter.

I guess "technically" you can say that i've been quilting since I was 12... my grandma taught me well, but I only actually sewed around 14 patches for my quilt!
I only just started getting back into quilting as-of July or August of this year!! So far i've nearly completed one quilt-top, and am working on my second!
Great bunch of quilty goodness you're generously giving away!
I started sewing when I was 11, and made a few little quilted items here and there over the next couple of decades, but I seriously caught the quilting bug about 10 years ago.

I started sewing when I was 9 and started quilting when I was 19. The quilting bug really took hold when I was 24.
Great giveaway - thanks for the chance!
WOW what a great giveaway. I started sewing when I was about 6. My grandma let me "help her". I can laugh about that now cos my granddaughter is the same age and helps me quilt also.
I am entering for my daughter, her computer is down and she called and asked if once again I would enter her in contests, I couldn’t say no as she helps my wife and her mother with their charity quilting projects. I try to support them any way that I can, so here I am and I hope I am doing this right.
thank you for putting our name in your drawing. Florida area

I learned to sew when I was 8 by sewing crazy quilt style fabric scraps on my grandmother's sewing machine. (doll quilts!) Later I taught myself with the aid of library books all the other techniques out there. LOVE trying new things still.

I've been sewing since I was in middle school, but had never quilted. I always wanted too, though. I started quilting about 4 - 5 years ago. My church had a Ladies Quilt Block Bible Study. Some blocks were very simple and others more complex. It was very interesting and I was hooked.
Yep I have an active blog!
I started quilting about 6 years ago on accident! It has now taken over my live!

I've been learning to quilt for about 16 years now...lol
I started quilting when my first son was born and my MIL was visiting. We have NOTHING in common, and the visit was BRUTAL, until I asked her to show me how to quilt. It is still the only thing connecting us, besides the husband and kids, and what a gift it was that she gave me!
I started quilting about 10 years ago, after I told a friend that I didn't like sewing. For some reason quilting was the perfect fit.
I started my first quilt that I can remember when I was 12 which was about 43 years ago. It was a grandmothers flower garden sewn entirely by hand. Its a wonder I still quilt.
